We got started in the Registered Red Angus business in 2018. We started our program with 5 females from the 9 Mile Ranch in Touchet, Washington. Phenotypically they were what we had hoped our whole herd would one day be. However, they quickly proved themselves as genotypical leaders as they produced offspring that were fleshy, balanced, sound footed and heavily muscled.

The next spring, seeking out females of a similar caliber, we found ourselves immersed in an online auction one April evening. We stayed glued to the computer anxiously upping the bid on the 5 females we had to add to our herd. We were fortunate to get our top choices and they quickly added style and composition to our herd.

Fast forward 2 years, we bought our own ranch which sits on the Oregon/Idaho border on the Snake River. We have modestly grown our registered herd and have generously grown our commercial side of the operation. Our goal for the future is to continue to improve the genetics of our herd by being highly selective of the females that remain on the ranch while advancing overall herd EPD's by selectively choosing sires that enhance maternal and terminal traits.  ​

That being said, we are striving to produce heifers for our customers that will thrive in any environment, add stayability, and produce calves that have moderate birth rates but high yearling weights. Correct foot and udder structure is also a top priority for raising your future dams. On the bull side of things we cull hard for feet and structure issues. If they aren't a well balanced, sound-made bull, they don't stay in our program to reach a producer. Finally, our bulls and heifers must have good dispositions and be easy to be around... because at the end of the day ranching is a family operation and keeping everyone safe starts with the animals in the herd.
